DOTS Score Calculator

Calculate your DOTS score — the IPF’s official formula for comparing powerlifting totals across different body weights and sexes.

What is the DOTS Score?

DOTS is the official scoring formula used by the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) since 2020 to compare lifters across different body weight categories and sexes. Like the older Wilks formula, DOTS multiplies your competition total by a coefficient based on body weight, producing a single comparable number.

DOTS was developed to address statistical weaknesses in the Wilks formula, which tended to overvalue lifters in certain weight classes. The new formula was derived from a larger and more representative dataset of competitive powerlifters, making it a more accurate reflection of true relative strength across all weight classes.

A DOTS score of 300 or above is considered competitive, 400+ is excellent, and scores above 500 represent elite powerlifting performance. DOTS scores are typically slightly higher than Wilks scores for the same total. Track your DOTS score over time to measure your progress in powerlifting.
